Description

Easy set up to make your pet follow you around rather than stiffly move directly with you. Using invisible dynamic bones, your pet will float after you when you move around. You can adjust how fast or slow you want it to go by adjusting the Elasticity and Inert. No Avatar re-rigging required! Just drag the whole thing under the heirarchy of your armature chest bone so that its connected to your chest, put your pet in the sphere, and you are ready to go! You can even angle it to be on your left shoulder, right shoulder, above you or even far behind! (the pet will flop around a little bit, even sometimes turning upside down depending on how fast you move, but aside from that its a natural flowing movement)
Note: If your premade pet has dynamic bones, be sure to set the pet prefab dynamic bones to exclude the last bone on the prefab, so your pet's dynamic bones dont mix with it.
DYNAMIC BONES ARE NOT INCLUDED, YOU MUST HAVE THEM FOR THIS PREFAB

been using this for a loooong wile now for my pet robot companion. iv finally upgraded to avatar 3.0 and im sorry to say but it seems to refuse to upload modals with the pet in it

I can't make it work as I want. My pet is dragged by the ball, his entire body too so it seems that he has a lasso on his legs... How can I make it move with me but without drag him like that?

The previous fix also allows rotation animations on the pets, something that previously broke.

the only problem I'm getting now is anyone rotation of the avatar's pet, whether by animation or just the dynamic bones, skews the scale of the pet, so it looks wonky temporarily (til it stops moving). the only solution to this is to make an empty game object at the location you want the pet, then have the pet sit at the root of the avatar with a fixed joint connecting it to aa rigid body on the empty you created. This fixed the scaling problem.

Scratch that! Turns out the dynamic bone limiter just breaks this. Turn off the limiter in performance options and it should work like a charm again (have yet to test this out on the prefab specifically, but it worked on my own tests)

seems something's broken this prefab as of a recent update. works wonderfully in Unity but does nothing when in VRC. Sad, I had a great plan for this. Hope this gets an update, it's super useful!

LOVE this btw, but is there a way to attach it to the spine, instead of the head so that when i move my head it doesn't move at all

Perfect for the possessed girl avatar i want to use (needed to find a way to get the spirit to move along with the character itself without having to do some non humanoid rigging
